I’M DR. LISA
Naturopathic Doctor. Certified Menopause Practitioner. Hormone strategist. And absolutely not here to tell you that feeling like crap is just part of being a woman.
For more than 18 years, I’ve been helping women make sense of the hormonal chaos that can show up as PMS, PMDD, PCOS/PMOS, irregular periods, perimenopause, menopause, hypothyroidism, sleep disruption, mood changes, brain fog, stubborn weight gain and the general feeling that your body has suddenly started making decisions without consulting you.
My specialty is women’s hormones—but particularly the messy, confusing transition through perimenopause and menopause, when your hormones ghost you and nothing feels like it will ever be the same again.
And I don’t believe hormonal health care should be reduced to either “take this supplement” or “here’s a prescription, good luck.”
As a Naturopathic Doctor and Certified Menopause Practitioner, I take a clinical, evidence-informed approach to figuring out WTF is actually going on. That can mean looking at symptoms, medical history, nutrition, lifestyle and targeted laboratory testing—and, when appropriate, using botanical medicine, nutritional supplements, lifestyle adjustments, prescription thyroid treatment or menopausal hormone therapy.
In other words: I have more than one tool in my shiny red toolbox.
Because sometimes the answer is lifestyle. Sometimes it’s nutrition. Sometimes it’s addressing a deficiency or another underlying issue no one has bothered investigating. And sometimes, despite what you’ve been told, your hormones are struggling, and they really do need some help.
My job isn’t to throw everything at you. You’ve tried that.
It’s to help you figure out what matters, what doesn’t, what your options are, and what makes sense for you.
You may already know a lot about your hormones. You may have read the books, listened to the podcasts, asked Dr. Google, or consulted Dr. ChatGPT and purchased enough supplements to stock a small health-food store.
Information isn’t your problem.
Knowing what your information MEANS—and what to actually do with it—is where I come in.
I’m a mother of two teenagers, a women’s health advocate, a lifelong learner and an unapologetic hormone nerd. I’m also sassy, spicy, curious, always opinionated, and firmly convinced that healthcare works better when you can talk honestly about what’s happening in your body without feeling embarrassed, dismissed or rushed out the door.
So if you’re in your 30s, 40s or 50s and wondering why your sleep, mood, periods, energy, weight, libido or ability to tolerate everyone’s bullshit suddenly changed…
Let’s talk hormones.
